Massage can maintain the healthy dog, the athletic/competition dog, the arthitic and the hyperactive dog.
Compensation or overuse of muscles, whether from play, injury, surgery, competition etc. can produce tight
painful muscles. Proper massage techniques help to alleviate or reduce pain, muscle spasms, decrease stiffness
and inflexibility and speed the healing time of illness, injury and surgical procedures. In performance dogs
massage can help with warm up before the competition and cool down after and so lessen the risk of injury.

Where does the therapy take place?

Massage should always be carried out where the dog is most relaxed and comfortable and this is in his or her own home. I will arrange to come to your house at your convenience. If this is not possible or you do not have the room then alternative arrangements can be made.

What have the clients said?

Geoff has a metal plate in one back leg and metal work in the other. This has caused some muscle wastage in his back legs. His behaviour is also quite challenging and he can be difficult to settle. Following each session he is now much calmer and our vet has noted that there is increased muscle tone in his back legs.

Since starting her therapy, Storm has lost weight, become more flexible and more relaxed. More importantly she loves her sessions and sleeps soundly afterwards.

My elderly dog (19 years) Mikki has benefited immeasurably from Ingrid’s skills. His coat and skin have improved, he is more relaxed, he sits better and his tail now stands straight up just like it used to when he was younger.

Boo, our 8 year old Dalmation suffers from arthritis on one of her back legs. She found the therapy relaxing and enjoyable and really looked forward to Ingrid’s visits. It has proved to be very beneficial.
